Imagine Your Game

Today we started our first thing with our partners, which was very exciting! Ashley and I took about 5 to 10 minuets to choose our topic and choose what are game was going to be about. We chose Education, and our idea was the bomb dot com. Well to me anyways, and I hope it's the same with everyone else. To be short with it our game is about a student finding their way through a maze of the school by answering checkpoint question, and finally making it to the teacher with an apple. Weather its ripe or moldy is up to how well you do in answering the questions in the maze. The "Imagining Your Game" talked about fixing your text, using tools, and uploading Flash items onto my wiki. Basically everything we already knew about, so it was useless. Even though we already knew how to do this, I am super excited to start working on our game and get it going. This is what I have been waiting for since the beginning of class.

Ango-Saxons Blog

When looking back at the beliefs of epic hero's through time, I have found that the persona of a hero stayed the same. Although some things were different such as now we believe in our hero's were super fanisized and fictional, and in this story they came to believe that their super human hero's were real. One of the most biggest tribunes to being a past time hero would be to protect the king at all cost, and to be willing to die in honor of their towns. That is a way that the hero's are the same, because heros in presnt times have to be willing to protect the town when in need. Although many of the epic hero's were based on fictional characters they all represnt human life in some sort of way.
The hero's in this story were nonfictional to the people in this story. They believed in them 100 percent, and knew that their eppic hero Ango-Saxon would protect them as much as possible. This epic hero Gilgamesh was born into an arrogant kingship, and had got brought down off the thrown. The ex-king had to humble himself to a pilgram. He is one of the origional hero's of the past, because his common faith of man.
I think it depends on the super hero that your talking about to beable to compare and contrast the diffrences of past and presnt. In this case I will be talking about Ango-Saxons and Superman. Superman happens to be a fictional character. He has the abitily to fly, and has super strength. Which is exactly like I said before of how hero's of the presnt are fanasized. Ango-Saxons on the other hand was a hero because of the faith the town had in him, and because of his courage and regular human strength.

Choosing A Topic

The first thing we had to do on "choosing a topic" was choosing a social issue to focus on. My social issue that I chose was poverty. So basically all i talked about was people in America being homeless, jobless, and people filing for unemployment. Which makes our country look awfully bad, epically with people sleeping on the side of the roads. I think it all comes to our government, because what are they doing right now? Spending money over seas for our enemies. Which to be quite frank, is pointless. Our government should be worrying about our economy more than others. This is where they live so why not help. This makes all the congress, and everyone that is a head honcho look selfish. Just because they are on their high horse they don't care about anyone who is doing so poorly. I also wrote about positive outcomes if they did actually start to care. Some of them were making homeless shelters for more people off the streets, making more job opportunities for the unemployed so they could take care of their families. If any help would come to the people I am almost positive that thanks and appreciation would be in favor. Honestly if I was running for congress I would try to help, the more votes the merrier.

Mini Game Tutorial

"The bunny and the carrot," what a game. To be my first game on the wiki, it was quite challenging. Upon learning how to use flash at the same time was most frustrating. Flash's code's are a lot like other friend sites that I go to, but they are not as complicated at all. Many frustrating things somehow found their way to me. Like putting the wrong code it or my carrot not moving for anything that I would do to it. My favorite part of the whole game was my final product, epically when i got to the part of putting the number box in the corner of the game. Once I actually seen my final product of my game I was ecstatic. I was so proud of myself, because of all the hard work I put into it. Over all this game was fun and aggravating, but I am excited to make my own!

Beowulf Part 2

The ultimate purpose of an epic hero is to leave something of lasting value. Beowulf left something that is a lasting value, which was the courage. The courage to defeat any other enemies the come to their town. He gave them the courage to know that their solders have power and the strength to defeat enemies. So when being burried by the towns people Beowulf was with the dragon's treasure. Even though they knew that he was only human, they still believed that Beowulf was the towns hero.

Audience Post

When you think of the first person who told the tale of "Beowulf" do you wonder what he was intending on the purpose of what the story to should be? I do, because the moral behind the story is when you know you can be the best you are the best. Being such a big story I wonder if they thought their hero Beowulf was real. As the audience of the story, the story tellers beliefs affected the sorty as a whole. Like "men gathered in the mead hall" meaning it was a belief for Beowulf and all his men to gather to have a toast. They believed that they were going to have a victory. With my beliefs going into my game I believe that they will have a big reflection on the way i live. For an example I wouldnt think twice about putting somthing that isn't what I do within my game. Age has a lot to do with the way a game would come out. Some being off maturity, because i think someone who is older would take it more serious that a teenager. Not saying all teens wouldn't take it serious, but in general.

Beowulf-part 1

Grendel, whos thoughts are as quick as his claws, and didn't think twice about killing someone through the night. The monster lived down in the darkness, and was spawned in slime. Grendel was split into a thousand forms of evil spirits, monsters, and goblins. After killing men upon men, and running with thier bodies with their blood dripping behind him being so delighted with his many kills. They called in Beowulf, who was stronger than anyone in the world. Being loved by everyone Beowulf ventured on to Denmark. Meeting up with Grendel, Beowulf knew his great strength would have to overcome the enemy of Denmark. Alone he would fight for his life aginst the monster. Before fighting, the city had a banquet in his honor for toasts to the victory that is coming. They all shout "the evil will be gone." There was great danger in fighting the great monster, because they would be fighting in seas. They said it would take five long nights through the swift pulling sea, but the town believed in his great strength. So they ate, toasted, and cheered for their great savior through the night. The prince even came to this honoring to wish him well, and said to Beowulf, "Keep it free of evil, fight with glory in your heart"....

Game Reviews

With my expierence on "Playing to Learn" I found out there are good and bad games. Even though both of my games were fun to a point, I still found flaws. I enjoyed the game "What would you do" the most, because it was based off real life high school drama. The kind of things that are really in high school, and i know everyone likes to hear about drama. However this game was made by a professional. On the otherhand the game made by a student, wasn't quiet as interesting. Not to be mean but it didn't have anything to drawl me in. The same topic was throughout the whole game, "Sammy the Salmon." I must admit it did have interesting information about the fish, but I just wasn't enjoying it. Over all I would say both games together are good!
